We took three private lessons from Maxi and Maricel, as well as attending two group lessons taught by Maricel. These pictures were taken in the small apartment they used as a studio.

Carlos Gardel is Argentina's most famous tango singer. This statue is in the neighborhood where we had our lessons. Maricel tells us that people go to his grave (in the Recoleta cemetery) to ask for his help with their tango challenges.

This is Enrique, an extremely friendly porteƱo we met at a tango lesson. He's a computer science grad student (a rare thing in Argentina) and was kind enough to show us around his school, the University of Buenos Aires.
